Jen and Meg hang and climb. These ladies always find a few extra minutes after class to work on the skills they needs for their obstacle course races. We love seeing people work toward their goals.
We are just finishing our first week of New Year Check-ins, and we just love meeting with all of you. If you haven't yet scheduled your Check-in you still have time. Check your Inbox, email reminders are being sent weekly. During your Check-in your coach will ask you about your goals. It's super motivating to hear all of you identify things in the gym or in your life that you want to achieve. Skiing the Ridge, running the Ridge Run, a body weight clean, pull-ups, muscle-ups, etc. Your list of goals is awesome and impressive. As you think about and identify your goals, it is necessary that you create a road map to help you meet them. For example, if you have the goal of a pull-up, what are you willing to do to get that pull-up? You have to get excited about the PROCESS in addition to the outcome. When I was training for the LiftOff, I was excited to train. I had a specific goal of a 145 pound snatch. I knew in order to snatch that weight I had to be excited to snatch 125 over and over again for two weeks. Then I had to get excited to snatch 135 over and over again for two weeks. Then I had to get excited to snatch 140, etc. You get the picture. I had to be as willing, excited and committed to the process as I was to the outcome. In the end I snatched 155! It wasn't just hope, but a commitment to putting in the work that got that weight over my head. So, for your goal of the pull-up, you have get get excited to come to the gym 3-5 times a week and work during the gymnastics progressions. You have to find the time to get to Open Gym, or stick around for 5 minutes after class and work on your flexed arm hang. You have to commit to loosing those last few pounds. All of these things will help you get your first pull-up. Having goals is terrific, but being excited about the process is what will get your chin over that bar. Good luck!
