You can breath your way to better rowing. It's true! You have heard all of your coaches talk about the importance of breathing. A good breathing pattern while rowing is very important. Watch Shane Farmer's video for some good breathing tips. He offers a challenge at the end of the video. Reply to comments if you want to take on this challenge. We will find a time at the gym for us all to do it together!
Today's Workout Gymnastics Pressing Progressions then, Jackie For time: 1000m Row 50 thrusters 45/35# 30 pull-ups Jackie is a classic short triplet. The secret to Jackie is not going so fast on the row that you're totally gassed for the rest of the work. We just did a Max Effort 1000m meter, row Jackie at least 10 seconds slower than your fastest 1000m. Aim to complete the thrusters in sets of 10 -12, the weight is vey light. If you can get your breathing into a rhythm, you could even try them unbroken - slow and steady. The last time we did Jackie, on Sep 20, 2016, we scaled to jumping pull-ups to keep the time domain in under 13mins. You have the option of jumping again, or you can scale up to bands if you think you can match or beat your time. Jackie is all about speed, power, core strength, and pushing/pulling strength. Good luck!
