Coach Noah, Coach Leslie, and Kevin perform today's workout blindfolded. In many ways, CrossFit naturally develops mental toughness. Many of us face down a heavy barbell or 30 min chipper and wonder if we'll be able to make it through the workout. For the most part, we make it through just fine. Coach Leslie believes we are all 20% stronger than we think we are. Sometimes, however, we get distracted by other people, music, noises, etc. Part of developing mental toughness is to be able to focus on the moment so much so that all outside distractions fade away. If you get caught up in people talking or what music's playing during a workout, you could use some training on your focus. When we last did today's workout, we intentionally and deliberately worked on our mental toughness by doing the deadlifts blindfolded and (for some of us) barefooted. We wanted to see how well we could focus and dig into our grit when we didn't have our normal visual cues. Try it again today. What do you notice? Doing workouts blindfolded, in silence, or with our usual accoutrements is part of our constantly varied training. Remember, routine is the enemy. Today's Workout Gymnastics pulling progression, this is our last pulling progression. Tomorrow we change to pressing progressions. Gymnastics pulling progression is 5 rounds not for time. Pick a pull-up, muscle-up, rope climb or T2B progression that challenges you. You can pick an item from different levels.
