6/16 Mental Toughness Thursday

We are heartbroken to share with you the news of Adam Evan's passing. Adam, Coach Kristine's son, died last Friday, June 10, from melanoma. Adam was a much loved member of our community and helped us build this gym. He and Kristine were the backbone of our Tuesday and Thursday 6:30pm classes. 
In April, Adam was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma. Because he was young and fit, his prognosis was good. Unfortunately, Adam's melanoma aggressively metastasized despite treatment. Kristine said Adam's passing was swift and he did not suffer. 
You all are invited to Adam's Celebration of Life on June 25 at 10:30am at the Stake Center, 2915 Colter Ave, in Bozeman. Adam requested he does not want anyone to wear black. Today's workout honors another young CrossFitter who died from melanoma. Amanda Miller competed in the 2009 CrossFit games and sadly, lost her battle with cancer less than one year later.
“I just competed in the CF Games less than a year ago and now I’m dying.” Amanda wrote on her blog on March 9, 2010. Just over a month after writing those words she passed away. She was 24.
On April 27, 2010 CrossFit.com created the Amanda workout in her honor. 
In 2010, the first WOD of the 2010 Games was dedicated to her and now Amanda is known as one of the gold-standard for fitness and tenacity in all of CrossFit.
