No sagging butts in this crew. 
It's Foodie Friday and now that we are getting a glimpse of fall, I'm in the mood for something warm, savory and tasty. This recipe is courtesy of the Whole Life Challenge. Slow Cooker Apple Barbecue Pulled Turkey

Serving: 4 servings
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 hours

Ingredients:
  • 1 organic turkey leg/breast combination
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon date paste
  • 5 small apples cored
  • 1 large red onion quartered
  • 2 small shallots
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Pink Himalayan sea salt
  • Fresh ground black pepper
Directions:
  1. Put turkey meat on a dish.
  2. Add tomato paste and date paste to saucepan, mixing well and heating slowly to create barbecue sauce.
  3. Once combined, use a spoon or brush to coat the top of your turkey with the sauce. Save the remaining sauce.
  4. Place apples, shallots, and onions in slow cooker.
  5. Add meat on top and apply salt and pepper.
  6. Add vinegar.
  7. Break cinnamon stick and place on barbecue covered turkey.
  8. Set for 10 hours on low. Do not add water.
  9. When done, mash apple, shallot, and onion with hand masher after removing liquid.
  10. Using a fork, shred the turkey and mix with the mash. Add additional barbecue sauce if desired.
