Take a nap today, you've earned it.
While you're resting you can ponder your liberty - the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views. Do you have liberty?

It's Coach's Choice Saturday and we're taking a detour from our Independence Week of Heroines to honor some very brave men. Today we honor the nineteen members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots firefighting team tragically lost their lives while fighting a fire in Yarnell, Arizona on June 30, 2013. Today is the 5th anniversary of their deaths. Join Coaches Leslie and James today at 9am. The Hotshots 19 story is told in the movie Only The Brave. Today we begin our Independence Week of honoring our heroines. This is the third year we have celebrated our Independence by honoring military women who have died for it. We start with Hildy in honor of Army Spc. Hilda Clayton, 22, of Augusta, Georgia. Spc. Clayton died from injuries sustained when a mortar malfunctioned during an Afghan National Army training exercise in Qaraghahi, Afghanistan. She was assigned to the 55th Signal Company and the 21st Signal Brigade in Fort Meade, Maryland, and was providing Combat Camera support at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, Chase Clayton. Please remember our special Fourth of July Wednesday schedule: 10:30am classe only on Wednesday, July 4. It's also Foodie Friday and it just wouldn't be kind to send you into a holiday weekend without something delicious to cook. Please enjoy this fantastic recipe from Eat, Drink, Paleo for Ensalada Rusa, a Spanish take on a classic potato salad. This is the perfect side to bring to any party you're invited to this weekend (or next weekend, or for our FOURTH Anniversary Party on July 15th.)
Click on the image above for the recipe. Enjoy the weekend! Siri scales handstand walking to handwalking around a box. Kim walks on her hands with ease. Either way you do it, being inverted and balancing on your hands will help you develop balance for all of life's pursuits. I like to focus on positive actions and things you SHOULD be doing for my Mental Toughness Thursday blog posts. However, I was intrigued by the top 10 habits you should stop doing by Ben Bergeron. Coach Bergeron usually has a laser focus on positive actions and positive habits, and I found this podcast a nice departure from doing something more. I really like the idea of doing something less, or to stop doing something that is not serving me any longer. Basically, this podcast all boils down to focusing only on things that YOU can control. The only thing you can control is YOU. Take ownership for your actions and stop doing the silly shit that distracts you from what you really want to do. Good luck! |
