What's for Dinner? There is one question that every single human on earth asks themself every single day. What's for Dinner? We all must eat. Some of us cook for ourselves and others have their food cooked for them (lucky you!) But, we all must eat. Cooking is a basic human endeavor. We all must eat, multiple times a day, and feeding yourself and others is a basic skill we all must develop. Without it, we will die or be dependent on someone else. I don't want to be dependent on anyone else for my food! Food is the foundation of my health and I want that squarely under my control. It's finally fall y'all! I love the fall. It does create a special challenge for us gardeners. Now is the time when our gardens are really coming on strong. We are just counting the days to our first frost. Some of us that live a bit higher have already had a killing frost. I'm in the valley and it hasn't happened yet. The average first frost date for Bozeman is September 16th. Since many of us haven't had a crop killing frost, yet, and these sunny days are bringing everything into ripe perfection. Tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, zuchinni, all of the good stuff is here! To take advantage of this amazing harvest time, why not roast up some amazing local tomatoes and eggplant? We ALL need to eat more veggies, and roasted veggies are a perfect side dish to any fall grilled meats. Click on the image below for the recipe from Dishing up the Dirt. Happy Eating!

How to be a BTWB Super UserI have personally used Beyond The Whiteboard, BTWB, since 2010 and we have used it at True Spirit since day one. It is the best workout logging system. Full Stop. There are SO MANY amazing features of BTWB and this blog will teach you how to become a BTWB Super User! You might to follow along with BTWB up on your phone so you can fully understand all of the incredible features. Topics covered are:
The Myth of Diminished Female AbilityI'm old enough, at 52, to have lived through a time when I was told I was not strong. I was told girls could be good at some sports (thanks to Title 9) but could not do others. I was told we just didn't have the upper body strength to do push-ups, pull-ups, or to lift and carry heavy objects. I was told I should be skinny. I was told I should have a flat belly and thighs that don't rub. I was told if I wanted to lose weight (which apparently I should constantly be wanting to do) I should go for a run. Hell, my entire time in the Marine Corps I was told daily that I was not strong. That I didn't belong. That I couldn't measure up. All of this bullshit was an attempt to stifle my potential. I was so grateful when I found CrossFit. Even though I was 38 when I started, I knew I had found something that would help me discover and promote my potential. I knew I found something that would recognize and celebrate my strength. I knew I found something that promoted my unique potential as a strong and powerful athlete while simultaneously promote other women's speed and endurance. I knew I found my tribe. My strong, powerful, fast, flexible, agile, and amazing tribe. What's for Dinner? There is one question that every single human on earth asks themself every single day. What's for Dinner? Ratatouille is one of my favorite ways to enjoy the late summer harvest. Ratatouille takes advantage of your tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, onions and garlic. This Ratatouille recipe courtesy of The Splendid Table takes a long time, it's the perfect recipe for a mild fall weekend. Click on the video to learn how to make weapons-grade Ratatouille. Enjoy! Since this version of Ratatouille takes so long, why not pair it with its eponymous movie? |
